Amoudara
| |
Amoudara is situated close to the island’s capital of Heraklio, approx. 6 km west of the city.
At the city’s airport, a taxi rank is situated immediately outside the arrivals gate, which always has taxis at hand whenever a flight has arrived, alternatively, there is also a bus terminal directly outside the airport, where you can catch the public service bus direct to Amoudara (number 6) for around €1.50 euro. The bus stops a few metres away from the Albatross, at the top of Naxou Street. They run every half hour from 06.20 with the last one departing at 23.00
A short taxi or bus ride, is all that’s needed to get you to your destination in Amoudara.
Amoudara has a fine selection of Restaurants, Taverns, Bars and Shops, many are situated just a stones throw away from the Albatross.
The fine sandy beach runs the full length from Amoudara to Heraklio, making sure it is never overcrowded and there is always plenty of space to enjoy a quiet day’s sunbathing should you wish.
The location of the resort means it is an ideal base for exploring to the east and west of the island and also to the south.
The area is well serviced with public transport with a public service bus operating from early in the morning to late into the evening on a half hourly basis. |
